STATE OF RACE

Voters will be reminded by the Bresnahan campaign that Rob Bresnahan has always put Northeastern Pennsylvania first. It’s not a slogan—it’s who he is. Born and raised in NEPA, Bresnahan built a successful business in the region and has remained deeply committed to the community he calls home.

That commitment has defined his service in Congress:

  • Bresnahan voted to eliminate taxes on tips and overtime, and reduced taxes on Social Security benefits.
  • Bresnahan secured more than $88 million in federal funding for Northeastern Pennsylvania to support local law enforcement, first responders, and critical infrastructure
  • Bresnahan worked to help negotiate a deal to save Scranton’s hospitals from closure.
  • All the while, becoming the first member of Congress to introduce legislation protecting small towns from unwanted data center developments when they lack the resources to fight back.
  • Throughout his time in office, Bresnahan has also donated his entire congressional salary to local charities and community organizations.

Together, these accomplishments reinforce that Rob Bresnahan’s record reflects his character. He doesn’t just talk about putting Northeastern Pennsylvania first—he has built his life and his public service around doing exactly that.

Voters in Northeastern Pennsylvania need to learn about Paige Cognetti’s record of building her career off the backs of Northeastern Pennsylvanians, while advancing the politicians and policies that crush this region. Relocating from Oregon to elect national Democratic figures, Cognetti has been paid by Hillary Clinton, worked to help elect Joe Biden, and even Kamala Harris. Rather than serving as the independent voice for Northeastern Pennsylvania that she claims to be, Cognetti has treated the region as a stepping stone for her own political ambitions—embracing the agenda of the national progressive left while putting her career ahead of the communities she represents.

For Cognetti, Northeastern Pennsylvania has been a means to an end, not a cause worth fighting for. She isn’t standing up to the political machine; she is a product of it. Her record reflects the priorities of the national progressive movement, not the values and interests of the community she was elected to serve.

Rob Bresnahan voted for the Working Families Tax Cut, which eliminated taxes on tips and overtime, and cut taxes on social security benefits, putting thousands of dollars back into the pockets of hardworking families across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Rob Bresnahan knows that Northeastern Pennsylvania families are struggling to make ends meet, that’s why he introduced legislation to make it cheaper and easier for local farmers to get their products to local markets, helping all of us save on groceries every week.

Earlier this year three local hospitals in Northeast Pennsylvania were days away from closing before Rob Bresnahan stepped in and helped negotiate a deal to keep them open. The CEO of the hospitals even said that Rob was quote “relentless in his efforts to ensure access to healthcare in the region remains strong.”

Rob Bresnahan has brought back over $88 million to Northeastern PA, delivering millions of dollars to fund local police and first responders, rebuild our infrastructure, and create thousands of local family sustaining jobs.

Rob was the first member of Congress to introduce the first bill to stop data center companies from forcing themselves on small towns and communities that don’t want them but don’t have the resources to fight back.
