Zach is a trusted conservative leader helping pioneer Iowa as a model for national success. The eldest grandson of the family’s century farm, Zach and his family are sixth generation Iowans. The son of a teacher and nurse, the family built a life based on faith, working hard for what you earn, and helping others.

Zach is a grateful husband and devoted father. He and his wife, Kelly (also a native Iowan) are raising six children including Addisyn, Olympia, Selwyn, and Canon, along with their adopted daughters, Alyia and Jayna.

Zach graduated from Southeast Polk and Drake University. He holds advanced degrees in international security from Cambridge University, cybersecurity from Air Command & Staff College, and Strategy and Technology Innovation from Air War College.

As a combat aviator in the United States Air Force, Zach deployed three times to the Middle East after 9/11. Flying over 700 combat hours, Zach received numerous Defense decorations for saving US Forces ambushed by Taliban insurgents, executing special operations, and leading COVID-19 recovery efforts with the Iowa Air National Guard.

Zach served on the White House’s National Security Council combating cyber-attacks from Iran and Russia, and later commanded expeditionary forces under the first Trump administration.

Following his military service, Zach was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives and later the Iowa Senate.

Still serving as a Colonel in the US Air Force Reserve, he served as Squadron Commander and continues to amass combat tours as the airborne intelligence officer aboard reconnaissance aircraft. Zach received the prestigious General O’Malley “Best in the Air Force” Award for life-saving support to Special Operations Forces combating a stronghold of 2,000 insurgents attacking US troops.

Sarah Trone Garriott voted to allow Iowa schools to teach sex ed, gender identity and sexual orientation to kindergarteners.

In the Iowa Senate, Sarah Trone Garriott voted to let men play in girls’ sports and to enter girls’ locker-rooms.

Sarah Trone Garriott voted to allow sex change surgeries to be performed on children.

After reciting a Muslim prayer in the State House, Trone Garriott went on foreign television and said that she is committed to only giving non-Christian prayers.

Sarah Trone Garriott, a Lutheran Pastor, officiated and participated in a Satanist wedding, supported a Wiccan prayer at the Iowa Capitol building and said America is “not a Christian nation.”

Trone Garriott says that Iowa’s leaders are “too white and too Christian.”

Sarah Trone Garriott called Christian schools “segregation academies” and “white enclaves” and suggested parents who send their kids to Christian schools are racist.

Zach Nunn Headlines

The cost of housing in Iowa continues to soar. Zach Nunn says one way to bring prices down is to focus on the skilled trades by training more plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and H-VAC techs. And, Nunn says we need shop classes focused on the trades in every Iowa high school.

In Congress, Nunn wrote legislation to ban members of Congress from trading stock and to protect against insider trading.
