State of the Race

In September voters in CO-08 need to learn how out of touch Democrat Socialist Manny Rutinel is with what is most important to them: local jobs and the economy.

  • Manny Rutinel wants to ban oil and gas operations in Colorado and kill those jobs.
  • Manny Rutinel has called ranchers horrific and exploitive and wanted ranchers to shift away from raising animals to help the environment.
  • Manny Rutinel has encouraged local governments to raise taxes on meat, dairy, and eggs to discourage consumers from buying animal-based products.

Voters will learn that Gabe Evans served the community as a police officer and is a veteran.

  • Gabe Evans wears the same boots he wore as a cop and a soldier to Congress as a reminder of where he comes from and who he represents. We need representatives like Gabe Evans in Congress, who come from real-world backgrounds like law enforcement, not career politicians, to fight for working families.
  • Gabe Evans was stationed at Buckley Air Force Base where he served as a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot and company commander responding to wildfires and search and rescues throughout Colorado. In Congress, Gabe Evans wrote and passed legislation that will lead to more wildfire prevention efforts that also help protect public health and air quality for future generations.
  • Gabe Evans wrote and passed new legislation to hold big utility companies accountable by forcing them to study rate increases and power availability before starting new policies.
  • Gabe Evans voted to increase oil and gas lease sales in America to unleash American energy dominance and ensuring affordable energy for families.

Gabe Evans Bio:

  • Before serving in Congress, Gabe spent twelve years in the U.S. Army and Colorado Army National Guard as a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot and company commander. He completed a combat deployment to the Middle East and responded to wildfires and search and rescues throughout Colorado.
  • Gabe spent over a decade as an Arvada police officer, where he witnessed firsthand the consequences of Colorado Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies. That experience drove him to run for the Colorado State House in 2022, where he fought for safer communities, lower taxes, and better opportunities for working families.
  • The grandson of Mexican immigrants, Gabe is a Colorado native who truly understands the beauty and responsibility of the American Dream. His commitment to preserving that sacred ideal is why he served in the military, stepped up for law enforcement, and now serves in Congress — fighting every day to make Colorado the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
