Voters in ME-02 will hear from Paul LePage on broadcast, cable, digital, streaming, radio and in mailboxes in September that he came from humble beginnings and understands that every dollar matters – which is why he fought to make life more affordable as Governor by cutting income taxes and ending the gas tax increase. Voters will hear that LePage has a track record of standing up to illegal immigration and fraud – ensuring taxpayer dollars go to Mainers first – and that, as Governor, he saved Maine hospitals and will always protect healthcare for Mainers.

Matt Dunlap voted to tax seniors’ Social Security benefits which would have been the first time in Maine history that seniors’ Social Security was taxed. Now he wants a seat in Congress, where Social Security’s future is decided every year.

Matt Dunlap admitted he was “utterly unqualified” to be Maine’s State Auditor and failed multiple tests required for the job. Then, during his tenure, Dunlap failed to catch tens of millions of taxpayer dollars that were spent fraudulently, wasting your tax dollars while Mainers struggle to keep up with the cost of living.

As a State Representative, Matt Dunlap voted to increase the gas tax and motor vehicle registration fee which put Maine in the top 20 states with the highest gas tax in the country.

As Secretary of State, one of Matt Dunlap’s directors helped an illegal immigrant obtain a driver’s license after meeting him at a bar. That man then used the license to purchase a gun and rob a bank. Dunlap did not reprimand the director, saying “there’s nothing to discipline him for.”

Matt Dunlap has received thousands from an organization that wants to entirely ban certain firearms in Maine and supports a law that would allow the government to bypass due process to take guns away from Mainers.
